A Study on the Present Problems of Engineering Education in University, based on a Questionnaire Survey.

This paper aims to highlight the present problems in engineering education at universities by analyzing a questionnaire survey that was conducted at the Faculty of Engineering in The University of Tokushima.The problems clarified in this survey are as follows. First, there is a great discrepancy of awareness between students and teachers. Second, students are very dissatisfied on facilities for education and research. Third, there are a variety of organizational problems for teachers.To achieve a desirable situation in engineering education, urgent countermeasures are necessary to cope with these problems.
