PROTECTIONS AND VINDICATIONSTO INDONESIAN LABOR

Opportunity to work overseas is considered as one of alternatives in solving employment problems in Indonesia. On other hand, the opportunity often viewed as a lucrative business. This point of view caused Indonesian migrant workers left unprotected. In a materialistic and capitalistic society, appreciation toward the migrant workers is unequal with their contribution. It is often the case that migrant workers do not have access tojustice. Considering of the vulnerability the migrant workers. this article argues that protection and advocacy for the migrant workers are necessary. The discussion will conduct as follows: firstly, it will start to the policy to send the migrant workers abroad. Secondly, it will discuss problem that migrant workers may encounter in their working Countries. Thirdly, it will discuss protection and advocacy upon the migrant workers, and related institution that responsible to the migrant workers. Through this article, the author wishes to contribute the migrant workers policymaking and to enrich labor law knowledge.
