Abstract

Abstract Die Kondensation von 3‐Dimethylamino‐benzoesäure (I) mit Formaldehyd (II) in 6n Salzsäure liefert 4‐Dimethylamino‐phthalid (III), das mit 3‐Nitro‐benzol‐ sulfonsäure‐natriumsalz (IV) in l0%iger Natronlauge zu 3‐Dimethylamino‐phthalaldehydsäure (V) oxidiert wird.
