ON THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PALMAR AND PLANTAR DERMATOGLYPHICS.

Recently Aoyama compared palmar and planter dermatoglyphics in detail and found a principle concerning dermatoglyphics in general. So he thought that plantar dermatoglyphics should be classified under the same principle of classification of palmar dermatoglyphics, in other words, plantar dermatoglyphics should be classified also according to Wilder, Cummins and Miilo's method.'Thus it is possible to observe correlation between palmar and plantar dermatoglyphics. The author had an opportunity of observing palmar and plantar dermatoglyphics of about two thousand persons, and found that the correlation between palmar and plantar dermatoglyphics was very low, about 0.08, The correlation between the right and left palmar dermatoglyphics and the correlation between the right and left plantar dermatoglyphics were found about 0.7.
