Abnormal curvature of the thoracic vertebrae was found in 107 (6.9%) of 1, 555 swine studied in Hokkaido. A relatively high incisence was seen in some particular herds. The 4th to 14th thoracic vertebrae were involved. The apex of the curvature was present most frequently in the 8th and 9th one. The degree of curvature was 20 mm or less in a majority of those involved and 41 mm or more in a few. The corpus vertebrae became shorter in length. It was greater in width and height and the foramen vertebrae longer in diameter than those innormal swine.
