Abstract

Radially open channel flow is a flow, in which all stream lines take such direction as diverging from or converging to the supposed origin, both side-walls being vertical. An equation based on the principle of conservation of energy is derived in this paper. The hydraulic behavior of the flow is described in detail. Upon these analyses, it is shown that the classification regions of surface profiles of the flow take various and systematic changes in accordance with the difference of the bottom slope.
