Abstract
The essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation of fresh green fruits of Vitex negundo was analyzed by GC and combined gas Chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). GC Analysis of the oil revealed the presence of ten constituents, of which β-caryophyllene (36.0%) and bicyclo-germacrene (20.5%) were found to be major constituents.
