Abstract
In recent years, many scholars have paid more attention to employee silence. They thought that this silence included two or three dimensions. With the application of the revised employee silence questionnaire, based on survey data collected from 396 staff members, this paper discusses the construct of employee silence in Zhejiang private enterprises. Compared with previous work, this paper proposes that employee silence includes four dimensions, and verifies the hypothesis by exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. This paper concludes that employee silence includes four dimensions, namely acquiescent silence, defensive silence, disregardful silence, and offensive silence. This conclusion expands the existing research results, enriches our understanding of employee silence in private enterprises, and provides a new perspective for the further development of silence theory. At the same time, it has certain practical values for enterprises to promote the growth and development and provide some references for enterprises to treat recessive conflicts of labor relations.
