Abstract
Described as new are Esenbeckia subguttata, Panama; Scione ablusus, Panama; Bolbodimyia galindoi, Panama; Phaeotabanus phaeopterus, Panama, Peru; Philipotabanus phaleropygus, Panama; Stenotabanus vapidus, Panama, Colombia, Peru; Stenotabanus (Brachytabanus) platyfrons, Argentina; Pseudelaphella nigribasis; Dichelacera (Dichelacera) amilcar, Brasil; Tabanus (Chelotabanus) surifer, Panama, Colomhia. New subgenera are Philipotabanus (Melasmatabanus) with Tabanus fascipennis Macq. 1845 as type, and Philipotabanus (Mimotabanus) with Philipotabanus inauratus Fchld. 1946 as type. Four additional species are added to the Panama fauna and notes on a further 10 species are given, with new synonymy.
