Abstract
ABSTRACT: Results of four- and eight-single-pass incision radial keratotomy for high myopia (-6.00 to -11.63 diopters) are reported in 50 eyes. The mean preoperative spherical equivalent refractive error was - 7.06 diopters (D) and the mean postoperative spherical equivalent was -1.02 D. Fifty percent of the eyes were corrected to within ± 1 D of emmetropia and 38% achieved an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better. The mean myopia reduction by age groups was as follows: 20 to 29 = 5.5 D; 30 to 39 = 6.1D; 40 to 49 = 6.5 D; over 50 = 7.5 D.
