It is well known that the tuning range of 4MU dye laser can be widely improved to about 1700 Å by addition of HCl to the dye solution.In this paper, we report a similar technique for a Rhodamine 6G dye laser. We succeeded for the first time in widening a tuning range to about 450 Å and in obtaining flat tuning curve for a flashlamp-pumped Rhodamine 6G dye laser by addition of KOH to the dye solution.
