Follow-up Study of Endohondroma in Hand by Simple Curettage.

5 patients with enchondromas in the hand skeleton had simple curettage of the tumor without bone grafting. Radiographic evaluation was carried out in these patients, with a mean follow-up of 9 months (range from 6 to 15 months) after operation.On average, new bone formation was observed at 6 weeks after surgery, and remodeling of the lesion was observed at 5 months after surgery. There were no patients with post-operative fracture and reoccurrences. We conclude that simple curettage without bone grafting is an effective treatment of enchondroma in the hand.
