Ocular Histopathology in Canine and Feline cases with Systemic Diseases

Abstract

Twenty-six canine and feline cases with arteriolosclerosis, sepsis, feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) infection, and tumors were examined for ocular lesions. Ocular metastasis was revealed in a canine case with malignant lymphoma among 10 cases with neoplastic diseases, and retinal arteriolosclerosis was seen in a canine case among 15 cases with systemic arteriolosclerosis. No specific ocular changes were detectable in 5 feline FIV-seropositive cases nor in 6 cases with sepsis.
