Solid waste landfill process is a final process of waste management system, and this process depends on clarification ability of nature. However, the increase of quantity andchange of waste have made problems in present waste landfill management system. In this paper, the following topics discussed.(1) Review of problems concerned with solid waste landfill in Japan, (2) Role of solid waste landfill disposal in social and environmental system, (3) Adaptable management system of solid waste landfill.
