Abstract

This paper introduces the connotation of postponement, constructs two simple models for evaluation the cost of original supply chain and postponement supply chain. Then author compares the cost of two models from the angel of demand variety, demand uncertainty and inventory cost by data, and discussed when it may be worthwhile to application the postponement in supply chain.
