Abstract

In the paper an extension of the classical cascade model to a 3D model for blade-hub and blade-casing interaction is proposed. The proposal is based on the results of fully 3D panel-method calculations for the incompressible flow in a straight cascade having contracted endwalls with convex or concave curvature. The results of the panel-method calculations are verified by means of flow measurements in a corresponding 3D cascade.
