An Elytral Aberration in the Alfalfa Weevil, Hypera postica (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Abstract
On May 14, 1965, 2 specimens of Hypera postica (Gyllenhal) showing similar elytral aberrations were collected by the senior author near Nichols, Tioga Co., N. Y. The right elytron of each of these specimens, pictured in Fig. 1, was whitish, completely devoid of setae and scales, and was substantially softer than normal. Both individuals appeared normal, behaviorally and morphologically, in all other respects.
