Notes on the Genus Miyatrombicula (Acari: Prostigmata: Trombiculidae), with Description of a New Species from Thailand1

Abstract

The genus Miyatrombicula is reviewed and a new species, M. benensoni, ex Rattus rattus from Thailand is described and illustrated. The subgenera Paramiyacula and Miyacarus treated as synonyms of Miyatrombicula. Eutrombicula (Eutrombicula) rixoli is transferred to Miyatrombicula. A table of all known species in the genus is given. The discovery of the new species constitutes the first record of this genus in Southeast Asia.
