Abstract

Ukraine like other former Soviet Union countries has great industrial potential and connected environmental problems. Mining activity is a foundation of industrial development of Ukraine as well as a source of large scale territories with destructed lands. Existing rehabilitation technologies of mining lands are based on state "soviet" standards, universal for any geographical, geomorphologic and biotic conditions. Presented in the paper innovative CAA Technology is based on previous classification of final mining lands conditions, their use for activation of ecosystem development, selection of corresponding adapted vegetation and methods of their planting. The technology allows creation of multifunctional multipurpose areas, which are very important for industrial areas. It was tested within Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin and allowed creation of nature preservation areas on mining lands and was included in the strategy of sustainable development of the region.
