Abstract

Given that methods of carrying out airborne assault training are improving along with the development of paraborne equipment and tactics of conducting military operations, a brief analysis of specific features of conducting military operations in contemporary conditions to the extent of parachute delivery and airborne assault training, in general, was made. It is found that the main tendency in NATO countries servicemen’ airborne assault training is increase the number of servicemen of special operations forces whose basic air method of delivery to the area of the combat mission is the high altitude airdrop with the use of gliding parachute systems. For implementation of high altitude airdrop a parachutist is required to have free-fall skills and body-control in the air. Special aerodynamic parachute simulators are actively used to solve these tasks. Main advantages of using the special aerodynamic parachute simulators when conducting airborne assault training were examined on the example of the US Armed Forces servicemen whose professional activity is directly connected with carrying out a high altitude airdrop. The results of the conducted analysis can be used in improving methods of airborne assault training of the Ukraine Armed Forces servicemen.
