Liquid densities of six alcohol-diesel fuel systems were measured at 298.15K. The six alcohols are: methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 2-methyl-1-propanol. Immiscible liquid ranges were observed for the methanol-diesel fuel and ethanol-diesel fuel mixtures. The systems of methanol-cetane and ethanol-cetane were further investigated, selecting cetane as a representative component of diesel fuel. Solubilities were evaluated from the intersections of experimental density data for the four mixtures: methanol-diesel fuel, methanol-cetane, ethanol-diesel fuel, and ethanol-cetane. By addition of water to the immiscible mixtures of methanol-diesel fuel and of ethanol-diesel fuel, equidensity two-liquid phases were observed. The equi-density behavior makes it possible to feed the fuels continually to the engine.
