家兎心房一房室結節標本に早期刺激 (S2) を加えた際CT/IASinputあるいはPerinodalatrial tissue (PNAT) 内にS2-興奮の伝導ブロックが生じ, そのためこれら移行心房組織を回路の一部に含むAV nodal reentry (AVNR) が生じることを観察した.これら移行細胞では, その活動電位波形はoompaot AVNのそれとは異なっていたが, 少なくとも一部の細胞は (1) S2に対するdecrementalな反応, (2) aoetylcholine, verapamilによる伝導抑制, などoompaot AVNと共通の性質を有することが示された.
