The patient was a 48 year-old female who presented with soft palate swelling. On examination a painless mass with no nerve involvement was detected. Examination of the neck showed a 5cm node located in the parapharyngeal space. The tumor was resected transcervically via a visor flap. Histologically the tumor was diagnosed as malignant based on pleomorphic adenoma. Malignant pleomorphic adenoma arising in the parapharyngeal space from the minor salivary gland is very rare.
