Productivity and Stability of Sugarcane Varieties in the 7th Round National Regional Trial of China

Productivity and stability of sugarcane varieties should be investigated to provide theoretical basis for their rational arrangement and extension.In the present study,the productivity and stability of 11 sugarcane varieties on cane yield,sucrose content and sucrose yield of the 7th round national sugarcane variety regional trial of China were analyzed by AMMI model.The results showed that the differences of cane yield,sugar content and sucrose yield among varieties,years and locations were all significant,so did the difference of interaction effects among varieties,years and locations.The cane yield and sucrose yield of the varieties MT96-1027,YT03-393,C1-2003,YZ03-194,YT03-373 and FN04-3504 were significantly higher than that of ROC16.When the yield characters and their stability of sugarcane varieties were considered comprehensively,both FN04-3504 and YZ03-194 had the best stability of cane yield,while YT03-373 and YT03-393 had higher cane yields with less stability.This study suggested that the four varieties,YT03-393,YZ03-194,YT 03-373 and FN04-3504,which performed generally better than the others,can be released for extension and rational arrangement in production.
