Abstract

ポリビニルアルコール (PVA) 濃厚水溶液を凍結させた後, 0℃付近の低温にて徐々に解凍させることにより高含水率で高強度なPVAハイドロゲルが得られる. 重合度1750, けん化度99.5mol%のPVA濃度30wt%の水溶液を-20℃で24時間凍結させた後, 5℃にて10時間かけて徐々に解凍させて得られたPVAハイドロゲルの強伸度はそれぞれ約60kg/cm2. と500%を示すのに対し, 同じ条件下で凍結させ, 室温下, 3時間で解凍させたPVAハイドロゲルの強伸度は35kg/cm2と400%であった. PVAハイドロゲルはPVA濃厚水溶液の凍結の際水相とPVA相とに相分離され, その後の低温結晶化により多孔質構造が形成される. X-線回折とSEM観察からPVAハイドロゲルは微結晶をもつミクロ多孔質構造であることが認められた.
