This paper describes the frequency conversion of CW coherent light with external enhancement cavities. The generation of 397nm UV radiation by frequency doubling of a 0.78 ƒÊm diode laser and generation of 194nm VUV radiation by sum-frequency mixing are described. In the frequency doubling experiment, a UV radiation of several ƒÊW was generated, while in the sumfrequency mixing, a 16 ƒÊW VUV output was obtained.
