Abstract
Since its introduction over 25 years ago, organizational justice research has consistently received a great deal of attention across the many of the premier scholarly journals in the field of management. Indeed, one could argue that organizational justice is one of the most studied areas of inquiry in the organizational sciences. We seek to unite the study of justice with a recent and promising development in organizational studies that focuses on fostering positive workplaces and work practices that facilitate employee well-being. Drawing from the positive psychology movement, the focus on positive social contexts has extended to several domains relevant to the workplace, including positive organizational behavior and positive organizational scholarship. It is at the intersection of these research streams, organizational justice and fostering positive workplaces, where we feel this symposium makes its contribution. We present four papers that examine the role of organizational justice with an eye on the positive side of organizational life.
