Abstract

The article covers a research into the concept of ‘pilgrimage’, its content and history. The authors provide an elaborate classification of pilgrimage tours, analyse the principal functions of group pilgrimage and dwell on the leading role of pilgrimage in the Orthodox religious tourism organization.
