Abstract

Urolepis rufipes, a pteromalid parasite of Ephydridae, was recovered from house-fly and stable-fly puparia at a single dairy in eastern Nebraska during July 1983. Parasitism occurred in natural host populations and in laboratory-reared house-fly pupae introduced into fly breeding sites. Parasitism never exceeded 9%. A laboratory colony of this parasite was established.
