Abstract

In Chapter 8 , we look at both numerical summaries (what are known as descriptive statistics) and graphical summaries related to exploratory data analysis (EDA). We discuss the topic of graphics more generally in Chapter 9 , and the related topic of data visualization later in our text. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
