Abstract

The preparation of carrier-free S/sup 3//sup 5/ sulfuric acid on an industrial scale is described. S/sup 3//sup 5/ is produced by the reaction Cl(n,p)S/sup 3//sup 5/ in KCl-target bombardment by lO/sup 1//sup 3/ n/cm/sup 2// sec for 4 weeks. Admixtures of K/sup 4//sup 2/, Cl/sup 3//sup 6/, Cl/sup 3//sup 8/, and espe cially P/sup 3//sup 2/ are separated by precipitation with Fe(OH)/ sub 3/. The organic admixtures are burned out by adding 3% H/sub 2/O/sub 2/ solution. The resulting product is sufficiently chemically and radiochemically pure for medical purposes. (R.V.J.)
