Abstract

Genetic variability and path coefficients were studied using 30 phenotypically diverse genotypes of forage maize during rabi 2006–07 at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Maximum variability was observed for green fodder yield plant−1, followed by dry fodder yield plant−1 and days to 50% flowering. Dry fodder yield plant−1 had significantly high positive association with green fodder yield plant−1, number of leaves plant−1, plant height, leaf breadth and stem girth at genotypic level. Genotypes EC 523288, EC 396835 and EC 541475 were superior based on mean performance.
