Abstract

Australia's mining industr y has reached a new five-year low, with analysts saying it will take years to recover. Research shows an over whelming 93 per cent of mining leaders are not optimistic about their growth prospects for the next 12 months, up by more than 50 per cent compared to last year (Mining Business Outlook, 2014). Organisations are struggling to secure capital, increase productivity and compete with overseas projects.
