Abstract
This paper introduces an open motion controller based on ARM platform, which uses the master-slave dual CPU architecture and provides on-site communication interface of Ethernet and serial port. Master CPU is one of ARM, STM32F107VC. The slave CPU is a special motion control chip PCL6045B. At first, the paper introduces existing implementation schemes for motion controllers, and the scheme for motion controller with embedded structure is adopted by comparison. Second, it gives a detailed exposition of implementation of hardware and software of an open motion controller. Finally, the system is tested, and test result is ideal, which proves the reliability of the scheme. Its characteristics of being open, interconnected, real-time and high cost performance presage a vast potential for the future development.
