Abstract

Rust of pea caused by Uromyces pisi is a major constraint to pea production.Anexperiment was conducted at Regional Research Station, Gurdaspur during Rabi, 2010–11 to control the pea rust disease with foliar sprays of the strobilurin and triazole fungicides in different combinations. All the fungicides caused reduction in disease severity. The highest disease reduction of 81.8% was obtained with Score @ 0.1% followed by 66.5% with Score @0.05%. The minimum disease severity of 15.05% was observed with Score @ 0.1% as compared to 82.7%in the control plot. There was a significant effect of the fungicidal sprays on the grain weight. The highest 1000 grain weight of 174.25 g was obtained with Score @ 0.1% as compared to 122.75g in the control plot, thus giving an increase of 41.95% in grain weight over the control plot.
