Abstract

Different insecticides were evaluated as seed treatment, seed treatment followed by spray and soil broadcast against termites at different doses. The results revealed that in kharif 2001 seed treatment by endosulfan 35EC (3.0g a.i./kg) followed by spray of endosulfan was found better than the rest of the treatments by exhibiting 9.24 per cent damaged plants as against 45.02 per cent in untreated check. In kharif 2000 seed treatment by endosulfan recorded highest yield (23.2 q/ha) followed by seed treatment of deltamethrin (19.4 q/ha) and imidacloprid (19.4 q/ha). Neem formulation, achook as seed treatment was not found as effective as other seed treatments but recorded better economic gains than treated soil broadcasting or treating soil with lindane dust.
