Abstract

Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance analysis was done using 45 F1 hybrid, 45 F2 generations and his parents obtained from (10x10) diallel mating design for traits viz., Days to flowering, Plant height (cm), Number of branches per plants, Length of first fruiting nodes (cm), Length of fruits (cm), Width of fruits, Number of fruit per plant, Weight of fruits per plant (Yield per plant). The magnitude of variability was higher significantly for all genotypes under study for all the characters. The estimates of PCV were greater than GCV, indicating the importance of environmental factors. High heritability was found in F1 for days to flowering (34.07%) and length of first fruiting node (31.72%).
