Urban transit planning in Los Angeles - a critical analysis

Abstract

Although much time and money have been spent over \nthe past decade by state and local planning agencies such \nas SCRTD, Caltrans, and SCAG to plan a "balanced transportation \nsystem" for Los Angeles, practical results have been \nlacking. This paper seeks to explain this failure and \nrecommends an urban transportation development strategy \nwith greater potential for success.
