Abstract

Present investigation was undertaken in order to know the impact of pre sowing seed treatment on germination, seedling establishment, seedling dry weight and vigour in chickpea genotype (Udai). The different pre sowing seed treatments showed different responses against all seven seed quality attributes. Seed treatment with T. viride + vitavax -T5 followed by treatment with Vitavax @ 2gm/kg seed-T2 seed were found superior for laboratory germination (99.00% and 97.66), root length (1.90 and 1.33 cm) shoot length (7.12 and 6.02) seedling length (9.02 and 7.35cm), dry weight (1.72 and 1.60mg), vigour index I (892.98 and 717.8) and vigour index II (170.94 and 1565.25), respectively. Among all the treatments control exhibited the poorest performance for all seven seed quality attributes.
