Chiral anomaly and anomalous part of the effective action in a supersymmetric theory

Abstract

The chiral anomaly is calculated in the superfield formalism in a supersymmetric theory in which scalar chiral superfields interact with external gauge superfields. The case of the Wess-Zumino gauge for external superfields is also discussed. The supersymmetric analog of the Wess-Zumino Lagrangian is constructed. The anomalous part of the effective action for arbitrary external gauge superfields is obtained. The analogous procedure in the nonsupersymmetric case is also given.
