The Relationship between Iranian EFL Teachers' Gender and their Pedagogical Success as Evaluated by Learners

Abstract

The current research study investigated the relation between gender and pedagogical success of EFL teachers in Iran. The participants of the study included 79 English language teachers and 602 learners who were all the students of the aforementioned teachers. All the participants of the study were teaching and learning English language at intermediate and upper intermediate levels. To obtain EFL teachers' success, Characteristics of Successful English Language Teachers Questionnaire was used. Independent samples t-Test revealed that there is no significant difference among female and male Iranian EFL teachers regarding their pedagogical success as perceived by their learners.
