Abstract
Thematic map showed clearly GIS spatial data by a variety of charts which became a powerful way.The defects of using GIS component(OCX) to produce thematic maps were analyzed,including the thematic map cannot be quantitatived and can not product a random local area thematic map and can not be user judged by multi-fields producing thematic maps and so on.FuZhou City Comprehensive management information system for hydrological research and development set as an example,MSChart and MSFlexGrid grid control were choose,combining with visual development language VB,The producing process of graphic type and hydrology thematic map supported by Mschart were discussed at the platform of ArcEngine,which can better solve the problems in the using GIS component(OCX) to produced Thematic map.
