Abstract
Pendimethalin and fluchloralin were the most effective herbicides in controlling weeds in pea. Pendimethalin at 1.50 kg ha−1 and fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha−1 remaining at par, increased pods plant−1, seeds pods−1 and yield significantly. Superimposition of hand weeding over pendimethalin and fluchloralin did not record any significant benefit in terms of yield. Alachlor at 1.50 kg ha−1 and metolachlor at 1.50 kg ha−1 were not 6ffective against broad-leaved weeds. Fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha−1 resulted in maximum marginal benefit: cost ratio (MBCR, Rs. 17.18) followed by fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha−1+ hand weeding and pendimethalin at 1.50 kg ha−1.
