Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during rabi/summer season of 1996–97 to study the response of sunflower to irrigation, sources and levels of sulphur. The maximum seed yield of sunflower was obtained at 1.0 IW/CPE ratio (18.48 q/ha) as compared to 0.8 IW/CPE ratio (16.99 q/ha). The yield components, such as more number of filled seeds, higher seed weight and seed weight/head followed the same trend as that of seed yield. Application of gypsum as source of sulphur produced significantly higher seed yield (18.27 q/ha) than elemental sulphur (17.27 q/ha). Seed yield of sunflower was increased by application of sulphur at the rate of 60 kg/ha over no sulphur.
