Abstract
The objective of the conference Coastal Structures '83 was to develop in-depth discussion of the state-of-the-art and future needs concerning coastal structures. Design, construction, maintenance, testing and rehabilitation are considered for breakwaters, rubble structures, bulkheads, floating structures, jetties, pile supported structures and pipelines. Aspects of shoreline response scour, beach protection, erosion control, and beach nourishment are covered. Wave effects and storm surges on structures are also considered.
