Abstract
Cloud computing, an emerging trend, offers virtually unlimited and on-demand computing resources. Similar to the concept of grid computing, here, the network is used to carry out the tasks. Different combinations of services, connections, software, etc., are utilized over the network so that the client need not have the full resources at his/ her place. Cloud computing infrastructure accelerates and fosters the adoption of innovations in academia. This paper provides a comprehensive introduction to the application of cloud in universities. The facilities and resources of the cloud can be accessed by colleges, etc., as on-demand computing.
