Abstract

The theory of intensities of overtone vibrational transitions is presented in its original form of a preprint (not published). A recent review of the theory and its applications is presented in E.S. Medvedev. Towards understanding the nature of the intensities of overtone vibrational transitions. J. Chem. Phys. vol. 137, No. 17, 174307 (2012); doi: 10.1063/1.4761930 Here are the most significant misprints in the preprint. p.28: The subscript in eq 77 reads "theor" p.30-31: The captions for Figs.5 and 6 should be swapped p.34: Fig.9, the last figure at the x axis is 2.6 rather than 2.4 p.37: In table 6, (A) stands for the text under superscript (d), i.e. "From the overtone emission spectra..." p.47: refs 117&118 were translated in Soviet J. Chem. Phys. 1983, N1, pp.59-82 & No.2, p. approx. 400
