Abstract

OBJECTIVE To find the main authors and key research institutions that published papers in Chinese Journal of Nosocomial and the academic level of the journal by bibliometrically analyzing its authors of highly cited papers.METHODS Papers published in Chinese Journal of Nosocomial were retrieved from 《China′s total resource base of knowledge》and ranked according to their citations. The number of papers, the number of cited papers and the number of highly-cited papers of the authors with a single paper cited over 100 times and 2 highly-cited papers were analyzed. The H index of these papers was calculated.RESULTS Of the 7856 papers retrieved,344 were cited over 30 times, accounted for 4.38% of the total papers published in Chinese Journal of Nosocomial.Of the 302 authors with their papers highly-cited,1 had 6 papers highly-cited,1 had 5 papers highly-cited,6 had 3 papers highly-cited,21 had 2 papers highly-cited,and the remaining had 1 paper highly-cited.The total citations of papers published by 4 authors were more than 500,and the H index of 4 authors reached over 9,indicating that these authors were the best experts in hospital infection. The papers published by Chinese PLA General Hospital,People′s Hospital of Peking University,Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and The First Affiliated Hospital of the Third Military University were cited more than those published by other institutions, suggesting that they be the key research institutions of hospital infection.CONCLUSIONS The high academic level and citations rate are found in Chinese Journal of Nosocomial indicate which is one of the authoritative core medical journals.
