Abstract

The genera Asproinocybe Heim and Tricholosporum Guzman were compared in order to show that both are independent but closely related.Asproinocybe has subglobose tuberculate spores and laticifers, while Tricholosporum has stauriform or cruciatiform spores and probably lacks the laticifers.Both genera belong to the family Tricholomataceae, tribe Tricholomateae.Moreover, a new species of Tricholosporum, T. longicystidiosum Guzman, Montoya & Bandala is described from a temperate zone of Mexico in the State of Morelos and new records of T. subporphyrophyllum Guzman from the State of Oaxaca are presented.
