Abstract
As the facilty which has cooling load at all times has increased, using the free-cooling system is increasing. The free cooling system is able to drop room temperature by cooling water heat exchanged outdoor air. In this study, the performance characteristics of free cooling system is analyzed and compared energy consumption of free cooling system with existing system's. The main result is as follows. In case that the temperature of outdoor air is under 2℃, It is able to handle cooling load by operating dry-cooler solely. But cooling system should be operated when the temperature of outdoor air is over 2℃. The effectiveness of free cooling system appeared between November and March. Comparing free cooling system with existing system, energy can be saved about 15% annually. It is resonable to apply the free cooling system to the facilities having cooling load constantly.
